This was such a fun shoot! I loved doing more of an "urban" feel and this family was willing to sit on the dirty concrete, lay on benches, and drag their kids across busy streets to get these fun shots. I'd love to do more of this type.

The kids all took swim lessons this summer since it's absolutely essential to know how to swim here. The kids were a little nervous at first, especially Cole (surprise, surprise), but they ended up loving them. Cole is the sweetest big brother I could ever have asked for. He is always taking care of Ava and is incredibly protective of her. Cole has been counting down the days until his birthday for the past week. He couldn't wait! We threw a huge party with lots of friends. The theme, at Cole's request, was dragons so we made dragon shields and painted little dragon sculptures. These first pics are of my brother-in-law, Kurt, for his senior pictures.  My pictures always look so much better on my computer than when I upload them on my blog.  They lose all color and pop on my blog.  To my photography friends, what can I do to keep their spark alive on the internet?  Anyway, I love the first two overall, but I love the last one because it's such a typical "Kurt" face.

We are pregnant!  I'm only about 8 weeks along.  I'm due at the end of June.  We haven't told the kids yet, only because when we told them I was pregnant with Ava nine months seemed way too long for them to wait!  We'll probably tell them around Christmas.  I've been feeling fine so far, just really, really tired!
